Children grieve differently than adults and have special needs to work through their grief and loss. We at State of the Heart provide an important outreach for them – a grief camp for children, called Camp Encourage. With the uniqueness of 2020, we are revamping things a bit this year and offering Camp Encourage @ Home. This will allow children to still receive the same great camp they have in the past – just virtually. Our team is dedicated to ensuring our youth have the support they need.
The camp, for kids ages 6-15, is a safe environment where children are surrounded by the support from our staff and other kids who are experiencing the same feelings they have. Games and fun activities are mixed with dialogue about feelings of loss and grief.
Due to COVID-19, we are revamping things a bit this year for our Camp Encourage event. Rest assured, we still want to bring you the same great experience as we have in the past. That is why this year we are bringing you Camp Encourage @ HOME! Take a listen as Ashlee, our Camp Director, discusses what we have planned for the 2020 Camp Encourage @ Home event! You can also visit our website for full details. https://stateoftheheartcare.org/grief-loss/camp-encourage/
