State of the Heart is governed by a board made up of representatives from many of the communities we serve. Our board is diverse, with each member bringing a unique set of talent and skills to the board. The board recently held their Annual Meeting on October 1st and elected the newest officers.
The current State of the Heart Care Board President is Dave Wolters who joined the Board in 2015. He is the County Treasurer for Mercer County and also serves as Chairman of The Board of German Farmers Mutual Insurance in New Knoxville, Ohio. Dave is proud to be a Board Member and volunteer for State of the Heart. He states, “We are all called by God to serve others…State of the Heart compassionately attends to this mission on a daily basis in bringing peace and support to patients and families during their time of need.”
Al Groth of Winchester, IN is the Past President. Al has been a volunteer for State of the Heart for several years and decided to join the Board in 2013. Al became associated with State of the Heart Care when he attended grief support sessions after his wife and father passed away.
The Vice President of the Board is Nick Anderson of Greenville, OH. Nick is a Nursing Home Administrator and joined the Board in 2017. Nick has seen hospice in action as a family member, professional, and community member. From all facets, hospice has touched his heart and being a part of the State of the Heart family has been very fulfilling.
Tracy Haines serves as the Board Treasurer and has been on the Board since 2001. Tracy said she was moved to become involved as a board member because of the agency’s reputation for providing quality hospice care to the community.
Jim Stamcoff served on the State of the Heart Board from 2005-2014 and rejoined in 2016. He was most recently elected as Secretary of the Board. Jim is retired from Wayne HealthCare where he served as the Vice President of Human Resources.
